Ovation at Oak Tree is Taylor Morrison's 55+ resort-lifestyle community in Lacey, Washington – and one of the premier active-adult communities in the Pacific Northwest market where 55+ communities remain relatively limited. In January 2026, the New Home Trends Institute team featured the Ovation at Oak Tree home collection. This follow-up feature will focus on the broader master plan and its amenities.

Spanning 258 acres, Ovation at Oak Tree is planned for 814 single-story homes across eight phases, with more than 400 homes sold and completed to date. What unites all the homes are two amenity hubs – The Villages positioned centrally at approximately 15,000 sq ft, and the smaller Pavilion at approximately 4,500 sq ft – connected by a network of winding paths that draw residents through green spaces and pocket parks. The 40+ acre Oak Preserve anchors the southwestern edge of the site, providing a natural buffer and a dedicated area for walking trails and wildlife viewing. Planned residential areas along the perimeter allow for continued growth while preserving the open-space character established in the community's early phases. Pocket parks are distributed throughout, ensuring that outdoor gathering opportunities remain within easy reach of every home. The community first opened in May 2017.

The Villages clubhouse serves as the social heart of the community – a 15,000-sq-ft facility designed to support the full range of programming, fitness, and recreation that defines the Ovation lifestyle. The building's exterior draws from the same Pacific Northwest aesthetic that informs the homes with a bit more of a contemporary twist: dark roofing, neutral siding accents, and large glazing that extends to the top of the gable.

The lobby area of the Villages welcomes residents and serves as the base of operations for the community’s on-site lifestyle director. The homes' Northwest Contemporary–Craftsman architecture, developed in collaboration with Taylor Morrison's local team, sales team, and corporate architecture group, uses a mix of horizontal siding and earth-toned color palettes that blend gracefully with the surrounding tree canopy. The single-story homes range from 1,513 to 2,295 square feet on 5,500 to 7,000 square foot homesites.
