Ovation at Oak Tree by Taylor Morrison is a 55+ resort-lifestyle community. DesignLens will feature the homes in the community this month and will follow up with a feature diving into the community and amenities. The collection of single-story homes ranges from 1,513 to 2,295 square feet on lots averaging 5,500 to 7,000 square feet, obtaining a net density of around 4.5 per acre. The community opened for sale May 2017 and will have a total of 814 homes over 8 phases. Taylor Morrison has currently sold and completed a little over 400 homes. Prices start in the high $500,000s.

Ovation at Oak Tree offers a low maintenance lifestyle with access to two clubhouses, an indoor swimming pool, pickleball court, bocce ball court, dog park, fitness center and an activity director who plans year-round activities and events. The community is designed for exploration. Scenic, winding paths lead to activity areas, quiet seating spots, and a 40+ acre nature preserve. In addition to walking paths, green spaces and pocket parks offer a variety of outdoor opportunities. The community is conveniently located near multiple retailers, restaurants and parks. There are limited numbers of 55+ active adult communities in the Pacific Northwest. Ovation at Oak Tree is one of the premier 55+ communities in the area.

Taylor Morrison worked with their local team, sales team, and corporate architecture group to design the collection of homes. The home style is based on a Northwest contemporary style with a bit of Craftsman style mixed in – which blends well within the nature-inspired community setting and living. The tour begins with the Cedar II.

The Cedar II is 1,815 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2-car garage. This single-story home has a large great room, flex room that can option as an additional bedroom, and plenty of storage. This home is 40 feet wide.

The home starts with a secondary bedroom off the foyer. While two-bedroom homes are less common in the larger market, they work well in a 55+ community since they provide an additional bedroom for guests.

Creative Design Group did the merchandising for all the models. For the flex room, the team created an alternative gathering space to the nearby great room, which would work well for a quiet conversation or curling up with a good book. This space can option as an additional bedroom.

The main living areas are grouped in a “L”-shaped great room that starts with the gathering area. The vaulted ceiling adds the “wow”-factor without the expense of full two-story volume.

Many builders these days opts for building spec homes versus allowing customers to pick and choose what they want in their homes. At Ovation, if a customer desires to fully personalize their home they can do so with a private one-on-one design appointment with an interior designer at the onsite private design center showroom. Taylor Morrison also offers the ability to choose from a set of pre-curated color schemes that coordinate all their hard and soft surfaces throughout the home.

In addition to the kitchen island, which accommodates a long stretch of seating for informal meals, the home includes a dining area that is more formal but still open to the rest of the great room. Should residents have guests, entertainment can easily flow between spaces.
