Evergreene Homes is a semi-custom home builder founded on the idea of serving the market between fully custom homes and large production builders. The builder offers the efficiency and cost of a production builder, but some of the freedoms of location and customization offered by a custom home builder. Clients can work with the builder in 3 ways: build on the client’s lot or find one for them, buy a home in one of Evergreene’s communities, or purchase a finished spec home usually located in an urban infill location. The builder never starts from scratch. They have an extensive library of professionally-designed homes but offer clients the opportunity to tailor the home to their needs with far more options offered by larger builders. This feature will highlight their newer E-Series in North Virginia.

Launched just over two years ago, the E-Series is a collection of homes inspired by modern European architecture. The Evergreene team saw the desire for contemporary homes increasing in recent years with people moving from other states or even from international places. Evergreene created the E-Series for this growing market. The series includes three plans ranging from around 3,000 up to around 8,000 square feet. According to the builder, the series has been received very well. The first model built, the Vantage, was sold based on design sketches alone and the second, the Avalon (seen here), sold the weekend of the first open house.

These homes marked a new chapter in Evergreene’s history. While the builder had predominately built more traditional architecture, this series of homes highlighted their capacity to produce more modern designs. Key features include large glazing, stone, no horizontal siding at the front of the home, and black trimmed windows. All architecture is done in-house. The tour begins with the Avalon model.

The Avalon ranges from 4,691 to 6,844 square feet with 4 to 6 bedrooms and 4 to 6 baths. The model includes 5 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, and a 2-car garage. Highlights include the study, morning room, reading nook, and finished basement complete with rec room, exercise room, and media room. The Avalon is 51 feet wide.

The double front doors open on a grand foyer with easy access to the nearby office and views to the great room. Natural light is an important aspect of these homes, so the choice of front door not only floods the entry with light but reinforces the home's modern character.

The Avalon model was exclusively merchandised by Staged by Design. All finish level selections were done by the in-house design team. The design team embraced the modern exterior and carried that aesthetic throughout the interior.

The Avalon includes both formal and informal spaces. The living room and formal dining room can be seen here with the less formal spaces in the background. The design team kept the space open to maintain a good flow between the rooms and avoid a chopped-up layout that often accompanies formal spaces.

Great design can be dramatic, yet subtler choices often define it – like the partial wall between the living room and dining room that demarcates the spaces while keeping them open and connected.

The E-Series designs feature open, flowing floor plans, clean lines, and an emphasis on natural light throughout the home.

The family room is the hub of the living spaces with easy access to all the main living areas as well as to the outdoors. The linear fireplace and absence of a television give it an elevated, intentional feel, relaxed in function but refined in character.

The covered deck provides a transition space between the family room and the backyard. The generous size provides enough room for a full seating arrangement.

The roof terrace, seen here, is another defining feature of the E-series. The design team focuses on a connection to the outdoors through decks, as well as plentiful windows. The roof terrace and balcony at the front of the home bring access to the outside to the upper level with majority of bedrooms enjoying access to one of these spaces.

Evergreene Homes offers a range of specification levels, but the E-Series is only available at the highest level that Evergreene has to offer.

Buyers get to select their fixtures and finishes at Evergreene’s full on-site design center. Natural toned cabinets with minimal details and clean lines like those seen here have been most popular.

Highlights of the high-end finishes include a 48” industrial range and 10’ ceilings.

Entertainment is also well contemplated in these homes with butler’s pantries and prep kitchens like this. Note the generous storage and counter space.

These homes are designed around what people want, not just what they need. The owner’s entry includes a well-outfitted drop zone complete with storage and a bench to sit on while you take off your muddy shoes.

While buyers can customize a lot in the E-Series, some features are just included in this collection like the contemporary stairs seen here.

The stairs lead up to a reading nook with direct access to a balcony. Tucked between the secondary bedrooms, it works equally well as a play area, a homework retreat, or a quiet reading spot for kids.

The homes are thoughtfully design with livability and privacy in mind. The owner's suite is set apart from the secondary bedrooms down a private hallway and announced by a set of double doors.

The owner’s suite is spacious enough to include a seating area. The suite also has direct access to the roof terrace.

The owner’s bath is spa-like with a freestanding tub and walk-in shower. Features like the ledge near the tub and built-in bench for the shower with space to sit or put toiletries highlight the thought put into the design. The bath is beautiful and also supports the needs of the residents.

The walk-in closet has two sides and has been outfitted with closet organizers. It’s large enough to even include a small island for additional storage.

The home includes three secondary bedrooms on the upper floor.

Each secondary bedroom has a private en-suite bath, which comes standard with a shower/tub combo but can be upgraded to include a shower like this.

All the bedrooms are spacious and include multiple windows. The homes also includes an additional secondary bedroom in the basement.

The laundry room brings a pop of color to the home with rich green colored cabinets. The space is well-outfitted with storage, as well as counter space for folding and a sink.

The model also includes a fully finished basement to highlight the opportunities for that space. The rec room offers a more relaxed counterpoint to the formal living spaces above, furnished with a television and comfortable seating for casual entertaining.

The rec room also includes an expansive wet bar – perfect for entertaining. With a wet bar and bedroom, the lower level is well-suited for extended family visits or multigenerational families, comfortable and self-contained enough to give everyone their own space.

A dedicated game room just off the rec room adds to the lower level's entertainment offerings.

It’s about improving people’s lifestyle, according to the builder. A luxury house would not be complete without an exercise room. The Elkay Liv water dispenser is a nice touch to help you stay hydrated after a long workout.

The lower level also includes a generously sized media room complete with a raised area that could either support multilevel seating or a snack area. Now this is the place to have movie night.

The tour continues with the Vantage, which is the largest home offered in the E-Series. The contemporary, European-inspired exterior design is a differentiator for Evergreen Homes that has been well-received. In an area dominated by traditional architecture, the E-Series manages to stand out without feeling out of place.

The Vantage has a grand, layered entry with several steps leading up to a covered front porch and then double front doors. This beautifully sets the stage for what to expect inside.

The Vantage is the largest home offered in the E-Series at 5,365 to 8,084 square feet. The home can have 6 to 7 bedrooms and 5.5 to 6.5 baths. The model includes 7 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and a 2-car garage. Highlights include a study, morning room, guest suite on the main level, loft, and finished basement complete with a rec room, exercise room, and media room. The Vantage is 58 feet wide.

Some homes are impressive from a distance, but difficult to imagine living in. They feel grand without feeling welcoming. This home feels different from the start.

The dining room is just off the foyer and it includes enough room for a dining setup as well as a seating area to one side. It's an ideal setup for entertaining – guests can gather in the seating area for cocktails before moving to the table for dinner, all within the same beautifully appointed room.

Large windows and glass doors fill the family room with light and provide access to the covered outdoor living. When the doors are open, gatherings could easily flow between spaces.

Since the Vantage model was sold based on design sketches alone, the selections were done by the homeowner for whom the house was built.

Evergreene Homes was able to keep the model for a month as a marketing showpiece before it was turned over to the homeowners.

It’s about balance. Since there is plenty of storage, the design team was able to include windows on either side of the range. The upper cabinets that would typically occupy that wall aren't missed; the windows more than compensate.

The butler’s pantry provides direct access between the kitchen and dining room while supporting entertaining.

Frosted glass barn doors beautifully mask the pantry from the nearby dining room.

The pantry is huge. Plus, the space is setup so that it could function as both a prep and staging space for a larger event.

Wrapped in windows on two sides, the morning room feels tucked into the surrounding tree canopy.

Instead of just being a place to walk through on the way to the backyard, the covered outdoor room is around the same size as the nearby morning room. Not only does this highlight the value of being outside, but it also creates an outdoor space that functions as an addition room in the main living areas.

The home not only has a large backyard, but it also includes covered and uncovered outdoor living areas on the main and upper levels.

The owner’s entry and mud room creates a space to drop off bags and shoes, giving residents time to transition from the outside world to their sanctuary, their home.

Both models offer the option for multi-generational living with optional main-level guest suites. The suite in the Vantage is located at the back of the home off the family room.

The guest suite has its own private bath with an elegant shower.

A unique feature of the Vantage is the double staircase. You can access the upstairs from the main staircase off the foyer or from back stairs off the family room. This allows for a grand entry but also supports function and ease for residents.

Buyers can select not only fixtures and finishes, but also structural options throughout the home. The loft includes several optional features that enhance the space: the box ceiling with rustic ceiling beams, wet bar, and built-ins.

The box ceiling with beams seen in the loft continues into the owner’s suite, which creates continuity in the home but also adds an elegant accent to the suite.

Both the loft and the owner’s suite enjoy access to the roof terrace. What a beautiful opportunity to get outside without having to go downstairs.

The owner’s bath is a sanctuary of its own with a long vanity complete with dual sinks and plenty of counter space….

…as well as a freestanding tub and walk-in shower.

The walk-in closet is spacious and even has its own window to bring in natural light.

The upper floor includes four secondary bedrooms that were not merchandised. The smallest of these rooms is 13’ x 13’ and they get larger from there up to a room that has its own reading nook.

Many of the secondary bedrooms also have access to their own outdoor space with the balcony at the front of the home.

While most secondary bedrooms have private baths, two share what the builder delightfully calls a “buddy bath.” That space (seen here) has a shared sink area that is accessible from both bedrooms as well as a separate toilet and shower area. What a great take on the classic Jack-and-Jill setup.

The laundry room includes the optional cabinets and sink, as well as has a linen closet just out of view for additional storage needs.

The optional finished lower level is spacious and, due to the lot layout, has direct access to the backyard. Plentiful glazing fills the space with light.

The optional wet bar saves the walk up to the kitchen for drinks or snacks.
